There can be problems if the ethernet cable and a wifi adapter are both connected at the same time so I would suggest unplugging the ethernet cable and so we are at a known starting point first reboot, use command sudo reboot, and then log in to the Pi. BTW how do you connect the wifi adapter to the Pi? You will need the wifi adapter connected to the Pi, either directly or using a hub.

I need to see if the driver is installed correctly.
Did you get any error messages when running the installation commands? I would not expect any unless a command was incorrectly typed. If the driver is installed but the configuration files are not set up correctly, or the configuration is OK and it will not connect to your access point, then you should see the LED flash at least once if not a few times, 5 or 6 times, when you reboot the Pi. This would suggest the driver file is not installed. OK strange you do not see the LED flash at all. I got the RPI hooked directly to the hub and the instructions seemed as if they were downloading and installing them but no blue light. I have went over the instructions a few times and it's still not picking up the wireless adaptor.
#TP LINK DRIVERS WN725N INSTALL#
I tried both ways to install the driver but I cant seem to get the adaptor working. The driver file should be in the /boot directory of your SD card so first copy it to your home directory and then install it using the following commands :. Plug the SD card back into the Pi and boot it. This will put the file in the /boot directory of the SD card. Plug your SD card into an SD card reader attached to your Windows system, preferably a USB SD card reader, and copy the file to the SD card. I have found for some wierd reason the file it tries to download sometimes has the name and this will need changing to. Select save as and then check the file name is correct and save it. You should be asked if you want to download the file. On a Windows system open Internet Explorer and enter. If you cannot connect your Pi directly to the internet using a network cable you can download the file on to another system and copy it to the SD card. Sudo depmod -aIf your wifi adapter is plugged in you should now find the blue LED on the wifi adapter is flashing it is working. Sudo insmod /lib/modules/3.6.11+/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/8188eu.ko Sudo install -p -m 644 8188eu.ko /lib/modules/3.6.11+/kernel/drivers/net/wireless Lsusb should then show exactly which version TL-WN725N wifi adapter you have.Īlso what security does you wifi network use? WEP or WPA/WPA2.

You will need to shutdown the Pi before changing the mouse for the wifi as the latest version Pi has a nasty habit of resetting if USB devices are plugged in while it is powered on and this could corrupt software on the SD card. Can you change the mouse for the wifi adapter, the TL-WN725N, and try lsusb again. I presume the keyboard and mouse are both plugged directly into the Pi's USB ports. I need the info about the wifi adapter and it looks as though that is not plugged in. The mouse and keyboard I'm using just now are wired to the RPI and not the wireless ones.
